20 years of experience

Founded by John Kinney in 1987, Metro Tile Contractors has morphed into the leading contract company in the Midwest. Built from the ground up, John assembled a group of well-seasoned partners who brought a wide range of experience to the table. Ken Dutro came on board in 1989 with a background in architecture. Together, John and Ken worked all phases of company management as well as all aspects of the contract work. In 1995, David Sullivan joined and brought prior experience selling partitions, which continued at Metro Tile Contractors. The three partners were heavily involved in all phases of project and company management.

In 2003, Kevin Coffman came to Metro Tile Contractors and began working directly with John in all aspects of company management. He now serves as president of the company. In 2005, Tim Coffman joined as an employee and immersed himself in operations and all facets of the business. He serves as a vice-president. In 2006, David Sullivan sold his interest to John and Ken - the two original partners.
